Xylotrechus rufilius, a species occuring in North-East Asia, has been described from Japan by Henry Walter Bates in 1884 [▽]. The species inhabits deciduous forests, its larvae develop under bark in trunks of standing dead/dying or freshly fallen deciduous trees [✧].
Body length: 8 - 13 mm Life cycle: 2 years Adults in: June - Septemeber Host plant: polyphagous in deciduous trees (Acer, Ulmus, Carpinus, Fraxinus, etc.) Distribution: Russia (Ussuri-Primorye region, Sakhalin and Kunashir), Japan, North-East China, Korean peninsula.
