Vadonia hirsuta is a little-known and for a long time almost uncollected species described as Leptura hirsuta from Hârșova (Romania) by Karl and Josef Daniel in 1891 [▽].
Mikhail Danilevsky reexamined and precisely described type series of this slightly enigmatic taxon and also reported new findings from Dobruja region of Romania in 2014 [✧].
Denis Gradinarov and Yana Petrova in their work devoted to Cerambycid fauna of Vrachanska Planina Mountains and Vrachanski Balkan Nature Park reported V. hirsuta
for the first time from Bulgarian territory (Ochindol village environs) in 2019 [❖].
