Stenopterus flavicornis, a xerophilic species widespred from Central Europe to Near East, has been described from Dalmatia by Heinrich Carl Küster in 1846 [✧].
S. flavicornis larvae develop in the dead wood of deciduous trees, but the biology of the species is not yet sufficiently known. Adults, active from May to August, are diurnal and anthophilous [❖].
