Stenocorus quercus aureopubens, an interesting taxon known from Transcaucasia, has been described as Stenocorus quercus var. aureopubens by Maurice Pic in 1908 [▽]. The larvae develop deep underground in dead rotting roots of deciduous trees, usually far from the trunk. Pupation in the soil. Adults, active from May to July, are diurnal and anthophilous [✧].

Depicted mounted beetles were captured in Leninovka in Dedoplistskaro (დედოფლისწყარო) environs (Kakheti region, Georgia) on May 7, 2014. The living specimens were collected on flowers in Mtskheta (მცხეთა) environs (N41°49′37″ E44°41′45″; Mtskheta-Mtianeti region, Georgia) on May 21, 2024.Collected by Lech Kruszelnicki and Petr Jelínek.
