Sophronica sundukovi, an extremely rare species (2 specimens collected only) occuring in Russian Far East and North Korea, has been described from Lazo (Лазо́) environs (Primorsky Krai in the Russian Far East) by Mikhail Danilevsky in 2009 [▽]. The sister taxon, the Korean Sophronica koreana Gressitt, 1951, differs from both known specimens of S. sundukovi by dense pronotal punctation, rugose elytral punctation, and totally brown prothorax [❖].
