Rhopaloscelis schurmanni, a rare Cerambycid species known from NW Iran and Azerbaijan (Talysh) only, was described by Stephan Breuning from locality situated between Chalus and Tonekābon (Shahsavar) on the Iranian coast of the Caspian Sea in 1969 [❖].

Body length:8 - 10 mm
Life cycle:2 years
Adults in:April - June
Host plant:Ficus carica, in Talysh in wingnut (Pterocarya sp.) [✧]
Distribution:Iran, Azerbaijan (Talysh)


The depicted beetles were collected 23 km E of Marzanabad (Māzandarān province, Iran) on May 21, 2017.
