The almond (Prunus amygdalus) attacked by Purpuricenus interscapillatus cypriensis. Infested broken almond terminal twigs with girdles created by eggs laying fermales are well visible. The girdling of the twig interrupts sapflow and attacked part of the twig then dies and serves as food for larva.
