Pterolophia m-griseum, a rare species endemic to to South-Western Europe (France and Spain), has been desribed from Montpellier evirons as Albana m-grisea by Étienne Mulsant in 1846 [▽]. Larvae of this interesting beetle develop in stems and twigs of of Fabaceae plants (Genista, Spartium, Sarothamnus). Adults, active from April to September, are crepuscular/nocturnal and can be found on the host plants. Biology and morphology of the immature stages wre not described [✮].

The depicted beetle was reared from a larva found in a dead Genista twig collected in Port Vendres environs (Pyrénées-Orientales, South France) in summer 2016.Collected by Petr Jelínek
