Pseudosphegestes brunnescens is a very rare species occurring in the Caucasus (South Russia, Georgia and North-East Turkey). Host tree is unknown, probably is developing in dead wood of deciduous trees. Adult is flower visitor. The species was described by Maurice Pic as Clytus (Sphegestes) brunnescens from Tiflis (Tbilisi, Georgia) in 1897 [❖].
