Pilemia halperini, a very rare species occuring in Israel and Jordan only, has been described from Qusbiye environs (Israel) as Phytoecia halperini by Carolus Holzschuh in 1999 [❖].
P. halperini differs even at first glance (among other things...) from the sister species P. griseomaculata Pic, 1891 by the abundance
of irregularly placed isolated white elytral spots on the elytra.
