Phytoecia (Paracoptosia) bithynensis, a species known from Bulgaria, Lebanon and Turkey, has been described from Bursa environs (Turkey) by Ludwig Ganglbauer in 1884 [✧]. Species was moved into a newly estabilished subgenus Paracoptosia by Mikhail Danilevsky in 2017 [✩]. Phytoecia (Paracoptosia) bithynensis was reported to be associated with Cynoglossum cf. foliosum (Boraginaceae) [❖].
