Phytoecia affinis volgensis, a subspecies occuring in South of Russia, has been described from Volga region (Russia) as Phytoecia volgensis by Gustav Kraatz in 1883 [❖].

Life cycle:1 year
Adults in:May - June
Host plant:oligophagous in Apiaceae (Chaerophyllum, Pastinacia, Bupleurum, Imperatoria etc.)
Distribution:Russia: South European Territory


Depicted beetles were collected in Pyatigorsk (Пятиго́рск) environs (800 m a.s.l., Stavropol Krai, North Caucasian Federal District of Russia) on June 6, 2002.
