Parmena cruciata, an endemic species to Iberian Peninsula developing in hellebore (Helleborus sp.), was described as Parmena pubescens var. cruciata from Castillo de Monteagudo environs (Murcia, Spain) by Maurice Pic in 1912 [❖].

Distribution:an endemic species to Spain


The depicted mounted beetle was reared from a larva found in hellebore (Helleborus sp.) in Pico Javalambre - Teruel (Sierra de Javalambre, Aragon, Spain) in June 2007. The living specimen was collected in Camarena de la Sierra (Teruel province, Aragon, Spain) on July 2, 2024.
