Oxylia duponchelii, a remarkable species occuring in South-East Balcan peninsula (Albania, Bulgaria, Greece, Macedonia) and North-West Turkey,
has been described from Peloponnese as Saperda Duponchelii by Auguste Gaspard Brullé in 1832 [❖].
The beetles, which are in suitable steppe and ruderal localities common, develop in roots of Echium and the adults are often collected
on the host plants.

The living beetle was collected on the host plant (Echium italicum) in Gola Monastery (Ιερά Μονή Γόλας) environs (Farida municipality, Laconia, Peloponnese, Greece) on May 29, 2021.
The depicted mounted beetle (20 mm) was collected on the host plant in Vlacherna (Βλαχέρνα) environs (Arcadia, Peloponnese, Greece) on May 28, 2009.
