Oxylia argentata, a nominative Anatolo-Caucasian subspecies distributed in Crimea, Azerbaijan, Armenia, Georgia, Iran and Turkey, has been described from Azerbaijan as Saperda argentata by Edouard Ménétriés in 1832 [✧]. According to Martin Rejzek et al. in Syria Oxylia argentata develops in Anchusa italica (Boraginaceae) [❖].

The depicted mounted beetle was collected on the host plant Anchusa italica in Gescher environs (2300-2450 m a.s.l, Māzandarān province, Iran) on June 2, 2014.
