Oberea vittata, a species occuring in North-East Asia (Russia, China, Japan, Mongolia, Korea), has been described from Bureya Massif (Russian Far East) by Constantin Blessig in 1873 [▽]. Larvae of O. vittata develop in twigs of deciduous trees and shrubs (Ulmus, Betula, Alnus, Corylus, Lespedeza, Wistaria) [❖].

Body length:♂♂ 12.5 - 17 mm / ♀♀ 15 - 18.5 mm
Life cycle:1 - 2 years
Adults in:June - August
Host plant:polyphagous in deciduous trees (Ulmus, Betula, Alnus, Corylus, Lespedeza, Wistaria)
Distribution:Russia, China, Japan, Mongolia, Korea


The depicted female beetle was collected in Glazkovka (Глазковка) village environs (Japan Sea coast, Lazovsky district, Primorsky Krai, Far Eastern Federal District, Russia) on August 4-7, 2007.
