Molorchus juglandis, an interesting species with development in the branches of deciduous trees (Juglans, Prunus), was described from Alanya environs (Turkey) by Gianfranco Sama in 1982 [▽].
Body length: 8 - 15 mm Life cycle: 1 - 2 years Adults in: May - June Host plant: polyphagous in deciduous trees (Juglans, Prunus) [☆] Distribution: Southern Turkey, Lebanon, Israel, Georgia, Syria
The depicted mounted male beetle was reared from larva found in dead twig of Prunus ursinus in Horsh Ehden Nature Reserve (Ehden environs, Zgharta district, North Governorate, Lebanon) on March 3, 2001. The female was collected in Çamlıyayla environs (1200-1600 m a.s.l., Mersin Province, Turkey) on May 24-26, 2011. The living beetles were reared from larva found in dead twig of Juglans regia in the same Lebanese locality.Collected by P.Rapuzzi and Tamás Németh
