Microarthron komaroffi, an interesting member of Prionini tribe distributed in Central Asia (Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan, Tadjikistan, Kazakhstan), has been described
as Polyarthron Komaroffi from Turkmenistan by Carl August Dohrn in 1885 [▽]. Larvae of M. komaroffi, species which inhabits arid habitats
in Central Asia, develop in roots of many desert and semidesert plants (Eremosparton, Peganum harmala, Haloxylon, Ephedra,
Salsola richteri etc.). Adults are active from June to September with peak in in the end of August. Males can be attracted by light [❖].
