Mallosia brevipes, a species occuring in Armenia, West Iran and Eastern Turkey, has been described from "Persia" (Iran) by Maurice Pic in 1897 [▽].
Body length: 15 - 40 mm Life cycle: 1 year Adults in: May - June Host plant: Ferula spp. and Prangos ferulacea Distribution: Armenia, Iran, Turkey
The depicted mounted beetles and live female were collected on the host plant in Saghmosavank (Սաղմոսավանք) environs (1800-2000 m a.s.l., Ara leř Mt. south slopes, Aragatsotn Province, Armenia) on May 25 - June 7, 2013. The depicted living male was collected on the host plant (Prangos ferulacea) in Karakurt Bucağı village environs (1450 m a.s.l.; 21 km SE of Sarıkamış, Kars province, East Turkey) on June 9, 2011.Collected by David Navrátil and Michal Hoskovec
