Mallosia armeniaca, occuring in Armenia, Iran, and Eastern Turkey, has been described as Mallosia angelicae var. armeniaca from Armenia by Maurice Pic in 1897 [▽]. Mallosia caucasica Pic, 1898 [☆] and Mallosia herminae haiastanica Danilevsky, 2007 [❖] are synonyms of this remarkable species. Like most species of the genus, Mallosia armeniaca is ecologically associated with big Apiaceae plants close to Ferula and Prangos in the roots of which its larvae develop.

The depicted beetle was collected in Urtsadzor (Ուրցաձոր;) village environs (Mt. Kotutsar, 1300-2046 m a.s.l., Ararat province, Armenia) on June 6, 2013.
