Grammoptera ruficornis is a common and one of the most abundant Cerambycid flower visitors in temperate parts of Europe. Larval development in rotten, in majority by fungi infested branches and twigs of many species of deciduous trees. Life cycle 1 year. Adults, active from April to July, are diurnal and anthophilous [❖][✧].

The depicted living beetls was photographed on blossoming hawthorn (Crataegus) in Karlštejn National Nature Reserve (Bohemian karst, Beroun district, Central Bohemia, Czechia) on May 11, 2019.
