Eurycoptosia bodoani, an conspicuous species with unusually large mandibles in males occuring in Azerbaijan and Iran, has been described from Lorestan province of Iran as Conizonia bodoani by Maurice Pic in 1912 [✧]. The monotypic (so far) genus Eurycoptosia was established for this species by Edmund Reitter in 1913 [▽].

The depicted mounted beetles were collected on Onosma sp. in Rajan environs (2000-2500 m a.s.l., Āzarbāyjān-e Gharbī province, Iran) on May 30, 2017.Collected by D.Navrátil and P.Jelínek
