This striking and massive Eodorcadion species, described by Fridrich A. Gebler as Dorcadion brandti in 1841 [✧], is known from Zaisan lake depression in East Kazakhstan and also from North-West China (North Xinjiang). According to observations of M. Danilevsky adult beetles are common in sandy dunes along the left bank of Irtysh river in the beginning of August, often climbing stems of Lasiogriostis grass [❖].

The depicted beetles were captured by S. Dementiev in Kulynzhon (Құлынжон) village environs (450 m a.s.l., Kokpekti District, East Kazakhstan region, Kazakhstan) on July 23-25, 2019.
