Dorcadion talyschense, a nominotypical subspecies occuring in montane steppes of Talysh Mountains (South-East Azerbaijan and North-West Iran), has been described from Talysh as Dorcadion Plasoni var. talyschense in 1884 [❖].

Body length:	♂♂ 12.5 - 18.5 mm / ♀♀ 15 - 21.4 mm
Life cycle:	1 year
Adults in:	April - June
Host plant:	roots of herbaceous plants and grass
Distribution:	an endemic subspecies to Talysh Mountains (South-East Azerbaijan and North-West Iran)

The depicted beetles were collected and photographed in (Qosmalıan village environs (1600-1650 m a.s.l., Talysh Mountains, Lerik district, Azerbaijan) on May 17-20, 2012.
