Dorcadion semibrunneum vlasenkoi, an endemic subspecies known from Western Anatolia, has been described from subalpine landscape of Mount Davraz by Denis Kasatkin in 2020 [❖]. Most of specimens were collected hidden under stones.
Body length: 15 - 21 mm Life cycle: 1 year Adults in: April - June Host plant: larvae feed on roots of various grass species (Poaceae) Distribution: a species endemic to Turkey
The depicted beetles (♂-holotype / ♀-paratype) were collected on slopes of Davraz Dağı (Mount Davraz; N37°46′59.7″ E30°44′42.2″, Isparta province, SW Turkey) on May 5-6, 2019.Collected by our friend Denis Kasatkin
