Dorcadion pantherinum, an endemic species to Kazakhstan, has been decribed from Kazaly environs (Kazakhstan) by Vasiliy Ewgrafowitsch Jakovlev in 1899 [✱]. D. pantherinum desertum, a subspecies occuring on sands surrounding the Balkhash Lake, has been described by Mikhail Danilevsky in 1995 [❖].
Body length: ♂♂ 17 - 19.3 mm / ♀♀ 19.2 - 23.1 mm Life cycle: 1 year Adults in: April - May Host plant: larvae feed on roots of various grass species (Poaceae) Distribution: an endemic taxon to Balkhash Lake environs in Kazakhstan
