Dorcadion obenbergeri, a rare endemic species known only from Vermio (Βέρμιο)
mountain range (Northern Greece), has been described from Vermio as Dorcadion ljubetense subsp. Obenbergeri by Leopold Heyrovský in 1940 [✧].
To species rank it was elevated by Stephen Breuning in 1962 [❖].

The depicted living beetles were photographed in Vermio Mountains (Imathia, Central Macedonia, Greece) on May 27, 2013.
The mounted male (13 mm) was collected in Ski centre located 2 km SW of Kato Vermio-Seli (Imathia, Central Macedonia, Greece) on June 9, 2011.
