Dorcadion (Acutodorcadion) kastekus, relatively common species in high elevations of West part of Zailiiski Alatau (Ile Alatawy, Іле Алаtауы) and Eastern part of Zhetyzhel Ridge, was described as Dorcadion (Dorcadion) globithorax kastekus by Mikhail Danilevsky in 1996 [✧]. Taxon was elevated into species rank, also by Mikhail Danilevsky, in 1999 [❖].

Adults in:	May - June
Host plant:	roots of herbaceous plants and grasses
Distribution:	Kyrgyzstan, Kazakhstan

The depicted beetle was collected in Boroldoy environs (2000 m a.s.l., Kichi-Kemin river, Zailiiski Alatau Mts., Kyrgyzstan) on June 6, 2010.
