Dokhtouroffia nebulosa, an interesting species of Central-Asian montane coniferous forests occuring in Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan and North-West China, has been described from Kyrgyzstan as Stenura nebulosa by Friedrich August Gebler in 1845 [▽]. D. nebulosa larvae develop in the base of trunks and in the upper parts of the roots of dying or freshly dead coniferous trees. Species strongly prefers Picea schrenkiana tianschanica, but reported was also from Abies. Pupation in wood in spring and early summer, life-cycle 2–3 years. Adults are active from May to August (peak in July–early August) [✧].
