Derolus asiricus, a rare endemic species to Saudi Arabia, has been described from Asīr province of Saudi Arabia by Carolus Holzschuh in 1993 [▽].

Body length:10 - 18 mm
Life cycle:unknown
Adults in:March - June
Host plant:probably polyphaghous in broadleaf trees and shrubs
Distribution:an endemic species to Saudi Arabia


The mounted beetles were collected 4 km W of Sabt Al Alayah (سبت العلاية) (N19°34′43″ E41°55′02″; 2 067 m a.s.l., Asīr province, Saudi Arabia) on May 3, 2023. The depicted living beetle was reared from larva found in unknown liana-shape woody plant in Sabt Al Alayah (سبت العلاية) environs (N19°37′38″ E41°55′17″; 2 000 m a.s.l., Asīr province, Saudi Arabia) on March 17, 2022.
