Conizonia georgiana has been described by David Navrátil and Milan Rozsíval as Coptosia georgiana [❖] from Gori environs (Georgia) in 2016. A separate webpage is dedicated to the biology of this interesting species.
Body length: ♂♂ 12.2 - 14.2 mm, ♀♀ 12.2 - 13.6 mm Life cycle: 1-2 years Adults in: May - June Host plant: Centaurea transcaucasica (Asteraceae, Carduoideae) Distribution: endemic species to Georgia
The depicted mounted specimens were found in pupal cells in Centaurea roots in Tbilisi environs (Georgia) in November, 2022. The live beetle was photographed 4 km NE of Gori (N42°00′28″ E44°9′37″; 950-1050 m a.s.l., Shida Kartli region, Georgia) on May 21, 2017.Collected by Petr Papoušek and Pavel Jelínek
