Conizonia allardi, a species occurring in Algeria, Morocco and Tunisia, has been described as Conizonia Allardi from Lambessa environs (Algeria) by Léon Fairmaire in 1866 [❖]. Gianfranco Sama recogniyed and described its endemic Moroccan subspecies Conizonia allardi guyi from Oujda environs in 2005 [▽]. Larvae of C. allardi guyi develop in the roots of Carthamus pinnatus.[✧][★]

Host plant:Carthamus pinnatus (Asteraceae)
Distribution:an endemic subspecies to Morocco and Tunisia


The depicted mounted beetles were collected in Oujda environs (Oriental region, Morocco) on April 4, 1999 (♂) / February 21 - March 3, 1990 (♀).
