Chlorophorus gratiosus sparsus, a species with relatively limited area of occurence in the South-East Mediterranean (Syria, South Turkey, Rhodos), has been described from Adalia (Antalya, South Turkey) as Clytus (Clytanthus) sparsus by Edmund Reitter in 1884 [▽]. The biology of the species is not sufficiently known, the nominate subspecies was reared from the wood of dead Quercus (Lebanon and Turkey) and Paliurus (Turkey). Adults are flowers visitors [✧].

Body length:	5 - 7 mm
Life cycle:	1 -2 years
Adults in:	June - July
Host plant:	probably polyphagous in deciduous trees and shrubs (found in Quercus and Paliurus)
Distribution:	Syria, Turkey, Greece (Rhodos)

The depicted beetle was collected on flowers in Kemer environs (Antalya province, South Turkey) on June 1-11, 2011.
