Chlorophorus elaeagni is distributed from the Caucasus to Central Asia where it mainly inhabits floodplains and riparian forests (tugay). The larvae
develop in the dead wood of various deciduous trees (e.g. Elaeagnus, Halimodendron, Caragana, Robinia). The life cycle usually takes two years with pupation
in spring and early summer. The adults, active from April to July, are diurnal and anthophilous [✧].

The mounted male beetle (10 mm) was collected in Elton (Эльтон) village environs (Pallasovsky district, Volgograd oblast, Southern Federal District, Russia).
The living specimen was reared from larva found in dead Elaeagnus collected by our friend Karel Hodek in Lepsy (Лепсі) village environs
(Sarkand District, Almaty Region, SE Kazakhstan).
