Cerambyx kodymi, an extremely rare (several pieces are known) and little-known species distributed in a relatively small area of southwestern Turkey and the coastal part of Syria, was described based on specimens collected in the vicinity of Latakia (Syria) and Iskenderun (Turkey) by Milan Sláma in 2015 [❖]. The biology of this interesting species, which is similar in appearance to Cerambyx (Cerambyx) carinatus Küster, 1845, is unfortunately still unknown.
