Brachyta punctata punctata, a nominotypic subspecies occuring in Russia (East Siberia), Mongolia, North Korea, and China (Inner Mongolia), has been described from Irkutsk (Russia) environs as Pachyta puctata by Franz Faldermann in 1833 [▽]. The biology of this taxon is not sufficiently known, development with high probability in roots of living herbaceus plants. The adults, active in June - July, are diurnal and anthophilous [✧].
