Aromia bungii, a striking Southeast-Palaearctic/Oriental species occuring in China, Korea, Mongolia and Vietnam, has been described as Cerambyx Bungii from Mongolia by
Franz Faldermann in 1835 [✮]. The larvae of A. bungii develop in living, often weakened deciduous trees. Thanks to its preference to the Rosaceae family in
agricultural landscape (especially in the stone fruit trees of the genus Prunus) is A. bungii considered an important pest of fruit orchards (cherries, peaches,
apricots, plums, etc.) in the countries of its original occurrence. Recently, this otherwise beautiful longhorn beetle has been introduced to Japan and Europe (Bavaria and Italy) recently
and is generally considered a dangerous invasive species [❖][✳][▽][✧][✱].
