Apomecyna lameerei, a species widespread in desert regions from Pakistan westward to Mauritania, has been described as Eurycotyle Lamecrei (misspelled Lamereei) from "Arabie" by Maurice Pic in 1895 [❖]. Thanks to the confusion with Apomecyna binubila (Pascoe, 1858), the true distribution of this interesting taxon needs verification, especially in Maghreb countries. Larval development in stems and roots of desert gourd (Citrullus colocynthis) [▽].
